“Things That Matter” began in January 2021, when John Weston and others sought to build on his non-partisan observations on leadership published in his book, On! Achieving Excellence in Leadership. The format was to invite well-informed, provocative speakers on the show, moderated by Mr. Weston.
Things That Matter 1.0 was meant to explore key issues in leadership of our day relevant to people of all parties and backgrounds. During the time the series was recorded, John Weston announced his candidacy to run for Member of Parliament in the 2021 election. While there are allusions to that campaign sprinkled among the Things That Matter 1.0 series, the issues discussed are “evergreen” in nature and the guest panelists have much to contribute to the discussion beyond partisan interests.
